About This Calculator

Plan Your Wealth Journey with Precision

This comprehensive mutual fund calculator projects the future value of your SIP, one-time lumpsum, or combined investments. It goes beyond basic tools by computing XIRR, CAGR, rolling returns, and inflation-adjusted real value — giving you a complete, realistic view of your wealth creation journey.

What Makes It Different

Unlike standard SIP calculators, this tool factors in annual step-up contributions, inflation-adjusted purchasing power, taxation on gains, and rolling-window return analysis across 3, 5, 7, and 10-year periods.

How It Works

SIP growth compounds on each contribution from its actual deposit date. Step-up increases your SIP by a set percentage every 12 months. XIRR reflects the true annualised yield on irregular cash flows — the SEBI-preferred return metric.

Frequently Asked
What is the difference between SIP and lumpsum?
SIP invests fixed amounts at regular intervals enabling rupee-cost averaging. Lumpsum is a one-time bulk investment. Most investors combine both for optimal wealth creation.
What is XIRR and why does it matter?
XIRR is the true annualised return on investments made at different dates, correctly accounting for each instalment's actual holding period. Unlike CAGR, it handles irregular cash flows accurately.
Why adjust for inflation?
Indian inflation has averaged 5–7% historically. A corpus of ₹1 crore in 20 years won't buy what ₹1 crore buys today. The inflation-adjusted value reveals your true purchasing power.
What step-up % should I choose?
A 5–10% annual step-up matches average Indian salary growth. Even a modest 10% step-up can increase your final corpus by 40–60% over a 20-year horizon vs a flat SIP.
What return rate should I assume?
Equity mutual funds: 11–13% CAGR. Hybrid funds: 9–11%. Debt funds: 6–8%. Always use conservative assumptions — actual returns will be volatile year-to-year.
Is this accurate for ELSS / tax-saver funds?
Yes. The calculator works for any mutual fund category — equity, ELSS, hybrid, debt, index, or international — provided you input an appropriate expected return for that category.
